All plant and machinery are designed in-house by Rapid’s team of highly experienced design engineers. Working closely with the most important people in the company - the customer - ensures that the plant and machinery produced meet and indeed exceed the customers’ requirements.
Rapid's design team considers all aspects of plant design, including function, aesthetics, safety and performance. All plant designs comply with current health, safety and environmental standards. The latest 3D design and analysis software is used to enable modelling of each product before metal is cut – ensuring that functionality, interferences, usability and maintenance access have been verified before manufacture. The software also links directly to Rapid's CNC production machinery, bringing a superior quality product to the market.

At Rapid innovation is imperative! Everyone in the company has an input, however small, in the design and improvement of our product. The focus on research and development, started by founder Bertie Pickering is continued with a dedicated department concentrating on improvements to the Rapid standard product range of mixers and plants.

All new designs and innovations are rigorously tested by the R&D team using dedicated in-house test facilities and, if required, university research centres are at Rapid's disposal for further technical advice. Rapid has enjoyed a long, well-established relationship with University of Ulster for cross-transfer of the latest technological advances and training.
