Man Charged After Three-County Drug Haul
A man is due to appear in court in Dublin this morning after a major drugs seizure by gardaí this weekend.
Some €120,000 of cannabis was recovered by officers across three counties following searches in the Dunboyne, Co.Meath, Huntstown in Dublin 15, and at Athlone Co Westmeath.
The man, who is currently detained at Finglas Gardaí station, will appear before Blanchardstown District Court at 10.30am this morning.
Two other men were arrested during the incident, both of which have been released without charge.
During the operation, which began shortly after 2pm on Saturday, gardaí stopped and searched a car at Main Street, Dunboyne. Three kilos of what is believed to be cannabis herb were discovered.
In a follow up search at a premises in Dunboyne, a further 2 kilos of cannabis were found.
Gardaí then searched a house in Huntstown, Dublin 15, where they recovered 5 kgs of the drug. A further 1 kg was found following a search of a house in Athlone.
The operation was carried out by gardaí from the Garda National Drugs Unit, the Garda Organised Crime Unit and local detectives.

Two Held Following Drug Seizure
Two men are being held following the discovery of cannabis and amphetamines worth an estimated €140,000. Some €20,000 worth of cannabis and €120,000 of amphetamines were uncovered when a car was stopped and searched in Waterford. Gardaí say the search was part of an ongoing operation.
