Gardaí Seek Woman Over Dept Of Finance Attack
Gardaí investigating the attack on the Department of Finance last month are requesting that a woman spotted in the area at the time of the attack came forward.
The request for the woman to come forward comes as Gardaí at Pearse Street renew their appeal for assistance from the public in investigating the incident that occurred at the Department of Finance in Dublin on Sunday, 27 September last.
During the attack a petrol bomb was thrown at an office window on Merrion Row in the City Centre shortly before 11pm.
It is understood a garda on duty in the area spotted the small fire and alerted the Fire Brigade. Only minimal damage was caused.
However Gardaí said today that they are particularly interested in talking to a woman who walked along Merrion Street, by the Merrion Hotel, going towards Merrion Square at about 10.50pm - approximately the time the incident occurred.
The woman is described as being in her mid 20s, with dark hair, wearing glasses and a long green ¾length coat cut to below the knee, and high heels. She also carried a red shoulder bag.
A spokesman for Gardaí said that if the woman could come forward they would greatly appreciate it. She is asked to contact Gardaí at Pearse Street on 01 6669000, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
