Tallagh Shooting Appeal Renewed

Gardaí investigating the shooting of a young man in Dublin's Tallaght area a year ago are renewing their appeal for public assistance.

The injured man is still critically ill at Tallaght Hospital after the attack - which was at 6.30am on 22 October last year.

Detectives wish to speak to anyone who has information in relation to a white Honda Integra Type – R, believed to have been used in the course of this crime.

This vehicle was stolen from a garage premises on the Naas Road, between 9pm on the 21 October 2008 and 9am on 22 October last year.

This vehicle had distinctive wheels, the front alloys were white and the rear alloys were silver.

At the time of it being stolen, the front driver's window was smashed and the car had no registration plates on it. When the car was located on the day of the shooing, it was in this same condition.

Gardaí are particularly interested in any sightings of this car in the Naas Road and Tallaght areas and anything of a suspicious nature in the Russell Estate area of Tallaght on those dates.

They are also appealing for any person with information in relation to the incident to contact with them at 01 – 6666056, the Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.

Missing Tallaght Man Found 'Safe And Well'
A man who had been missing from the Tallaght area has been found 'safe and well', Garda have reported. 30-year-old John Rodgers was reported missing on 11 July. However, Garda said John has now been found and thanked the public for their assistance.

Teen Arrested Following Firearm Seizure
A 19-year-old man has been arrested by gardaí following the seizure of a firearm in Tallaght, Dublin. He was arrested on the Jobstown Road at approximately 12.40am on Tuesday morning. Gardaí were alerted after a man was seen holding a weapon. The male was chased on foot and gardaí disarmed and arrested him.

Man Shot In Leg At His Dublin Home
A man was shot in the leg at his home in Dublin last night. The man, in his 30s, was shot at a number of times, at his house in Tallaght, south Dublin, according to Gardai. He was taken to Tallaght Hospital, and his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. The victim was shot at three times in the leg at his front door.

Two Arrested In Connection With Cash-In-Transit Van Robbery
Two men have been arrested in connection with a cash-in-transit van robbery in Dublin. The men, aged in their 20s and 60s, have been detained by Gardai in connection with the incident which happened on Fortunestown Way last October. Both men are being held at Tallaght Garda Station where they can be questioned for up to 72 hours.

Rearrest Of Delaney Shooting Suspect
A man has been rearrested in connection with the shooting of Robert Delaney in 2008, according to Gardaí this morning. Officers in Tallaght, investigating the shooting of Robert Delaney on the 22nd October 2008 in the Russell Rise area of Tallaght, said this morning they had arrested one male.
