'Highly Dangerous' Flares Stolen In Waterford
Gardaí in Waterford have launched an investigation after the theft of what are described as "highly dangerous" flares.
The theft occurred overnight on the Monday in the Ring area of County Waterford. A Gardaí spokesman said that some of the flares, approximately 25 out of 50, that were taken are "highly dangerous", and anyone who comes across them is urged not to touch them, and to contact their nearest Garda station.
"These flares are for use in Marine emergencies, and as such are extremely dangerous," the spokesman said.
Officers in Dungarvan, County Waterford are also appealing to members of the public who may have information with regard to the incident to come forward.

'On-The-Spot' Fine Introduced For Cycling Offences
New legislation has been introduced that will allow Gardaí to issue 'on-the-spot' fines to cyclist for offences including riding on the footpath and running red lights. The new fine will be a minimum of €50 and will introduced before the end of the year.
