McCartney Announces O2 Christmas Gig
Sir Paul McCartney has announced an appearance at the O2 in Dublin this December.
The special Christmas performance will be his first show in Ireland in six years and is one of eight shows during a short European tour, which will also include his first date at the O2 in London.
The Good Evening Europe tour begins in Hamburg where The Beatles began their musical journey over 50 years ago.
Announcing the tour, Paul, 67, said: "This is my chance to bring our current show home to where it all began. Starting in Hamburg, ending in London and rocking everywhere in between. I'm very much looking forward to ending the year on a high."
McCartney last played Ireland in May 2003 shortly after his marriage to Heather Mills.
That was his first concert in Ireland since The Beatles played their only Irish concerts at the Adelphi in 1963 and the Ritz in Belfast.
His sell-out US tour this year, which included support from The Script, has been mostly a reprise of Beatles favourites rather than his solo work.
Tickets for the December 20 concert go on sale on Wednesday, October 28th at 9am and are priced between €86.25 and €156.25.
