'Liquid Ecstacy' Party Leaves Eight Hospitalized

Up to eight Halloween revelers are now recovering in hospital after taking 'liquid ecstacy' at a party in Dublin.

Gardai in Blanchardstown are investigating the incident following a party, which took place at three different addresses in Annaly Court in Ongar, Dublin 15.

Gardai revealed that a number of those at the party had taken "liquid ecstasy".

After taking the substance, a number of party goers reported feeling unwell and were brought to Blanchardstown Hospital shortly before 5am on Sunday morning, with three of those being admitted to the Intensive Care Unit.

However, Gardai are warning that, other than those hospitalized, a number of other people who attended the party and may have taken or been exposed to the substance.

Officers are now appealing to anyone who attended the parties in the area to seek medical attention without delay, whilst also appealing to family or friends of persons who may have attended to check on them.

Some of those who attended may be living alone and Gardai are anxious that those people are checked on and given medical advice without delay.

A Garda spokesman said an investigation into the supply and consumption of the controlled substance is underway but the "priority at this stage is to ensure that anyone who consumed or was exposed to dangerous drugs receives medical attention."
