Arrests Follow Phoenix Park Body Find
Two males have been arrested in connection with the discovery of a body in Pheonix Park in August.
Gardaí said today that the two men were arrested on the North Circular Road and are currently detained at Finglas and Cabra Garda Stations under section 30 of the Offences Against The State Act. One man is 36 the other is 18-years-old.
Officers investigating the murder of the Romanian woman spent weeks attempting to ascertain the woman's identity.
She had been found dead in Phoenix Park, and an autopsy revealed she had been murdered.
Recently, Gardaí named her as Eugenia Bratis, 50, from Timisoara, Romania. She has two children, both in their 20s who are still living in Romania.
A spokesman for Gardai said this morning they would like to thank all the members of the public who came forward and helped with the investigation to date.
However, they are again appealing for assistance in trying to establish the movements of Eugenia in the weeks prior to the discovery of her body in the Phoenix Park on Wednesday August 5.
The Gardaí said they had established Eugenia visited Ireland on a number of occasions since 2007, and in recent months had been seen begging in Dublin City, mainly on O'Connell Bridge and O'Connell Street in the centre of Dublin.
Officers are asking for anybody who knew Eugenia or who was in contact with her or who saw her at any stage, to contact the Gardai in Cabra at 6667400, the Garda Confidential Line 1-800-666-111 or any Garda station.
