Two Dead During Weekend Road Carnage
Two people have died and a number hospitalised in separate incidents on Ireland's roads, after a weekend to serious road incidents.
In the latest incident, Gardai in Blackrock are investigating the circumstances of a fatal road traffic collision, which occurred at Clonard Lawn, Dundrum, on Yesterday.
According to Gardaí, at approximately 2.45am officers were called to scene of a collision involving a pedestrian and a car.
A male pedestrian, aged 28, was taken by Ambulance to St Vincents Hospital where he was later pronounced dead. The driver of the car was uninjured.
Forensic collision investigators were called to the scene, the road remains closed and traffic diversions are in place.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Gardai at Blackrock on 01 6665200, the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.
Meanwhile, Gardai in Navan are investigating a fatal road traffic collision which occurred on a minor road at Grangegeeth, Slane, County Meath on Saturday.
At approximately 21.45 hours Gardaí were called to Grangegeeth, Slane, after reports of a crash between a car and a van at a crossroad junction.
The driver of the car, a male aged 27, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was taken to Our Ladies Hospital Navan where a post mortem examination will be carried out. The driver of the van, a 23-year-old male, was also taken to Hospital with minor injuries.
The scene remains closed pending examination by Forensic Collision Investigators and traffic diversions are in place.
Those with information on the incident are asked to contact Gardai in Navan on 046 9079930, the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.
Finally, a collision at the Red Cow Roundabout in Clondalkin has led to an internal Gardaí investigation.
A Garda car and number of other vehicles were involved in the incident, which occurred at approximately 2.50am on Friday.
The collision occurred on the city bound lane of the N7 at the junction of the Red Cow Roundabout.
The road was closed pending a forensic collision examination and has since re-opened.
The Garda car was positioned and parked at the rear of a scene, where a broken down car was being removed by a tow truck.
Two Garda members, one male and one female, and two males from a second car were taken to Tallaght Hospital, the Gardai received minor injuries and were released from hospital shortly afterwards.
Of the two others, one male is described as critical but stable and the other is not believed to serious.
This incident has been referred to The Garda Siochana Ombudsman Commission.

John Gallagher, 55, and his 24-year-old son Sean died when their car collided with another vehicle at Burt on Saturday morning. The collision occurred at the junction of Slab Road, Burt, on the Main Letterkenny to Derry Road at approximately 10.

Dunleer Crash Victims Named
The woman and son killed in County Louth yesterday after their car collided with a wall have been named. Leontina Covaci (35 years) and Ezacheal Covaci (9 years) of Rivervale Grove, Dunleer, Co. Louth, died at around 2.30pm along the old M1, south of Castlebellingham.

Gardaí Appeal For Witnesses After Cyclist Is Hit By Bus
Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to an incident in which a cyclist was hit by a bus in south Dublin. According to gardaí, a 55-year-old woman was hit by a bus while cycling at about 21:40 on Burlington Road on Monday night. She is currently being treated at St Vincent's Hospital, where her condition is described as serious.
