Donegal Exploration To Boost Economy

An €11m exploration venture is going ahead in Co Donegal.

The economy of south Donegal in particular could be in for a major boost with confirmation that rock samples uncovered around Laghey and Ballintra have led to a Canadian-based company signing up for a 'rare earth elements' excavation programme.

It will be carried out over the next four years after Coastal Pacific Mining reached the deal with Ballintra-based firm Leangold Limited.

A report on the venture is currently being put together and works are expected to get underway shortly.

The Coastal Pacific Mining Corp now intends to further its exploration interests in the Donegal region for Gold, Silver and Rare Earth Elements.
