Man Dies In Another Donegal Crash
A man has been killed in a Donegal road crash, only a day after two others were fatally injured in a collision in the county.
Gardaí at Ballyshannon are investigating yesterday's fatal road collision which involved two cars that occurred shortly before 5.30pm on the N15 at Cavangarden in Ballyshannon.
A man in his 50s, who was the driver of one of the cars, was killed in the accident. His body was removed to Sligo General Hospital.
The incident occurred only a day after two men were also killed in a two vehicle collision in the Ballybofey area of County Donegal.
The previous incident occurred at approximately 3.45pm on Monday along the main road between Lifford and Ballybofey, which is the N15, near the village of Killygordon.
Again, two cars were involved in the collision, with the driver and passenger in one of the vehicles – and the only occupants - pronounced dead at the scene. Both men were in their 20s.
The female and male occupants of the second car were taken to Letterkenny General Hospital where they are currently being treated for their injuries.
This morning, diversions are in place along the N15 to facilitate a forensic collision investigation.
AA Roadwatch are reporting very strong winds in County Donegal this morning, and are advising drivers to take extra care and to watch out for debris.
The Sligo to Donegal Road is expected to remain closed until midday between the Coolcholly road in Ballyshannon and the Ballintra junction following yesterday's serious crash.
