Gardaí Move In On Gang ATM Thieves
Some 13 people have been arrested in connection with the theft of Auto Telling Machines in the South Eastern and Eastern Regions.
The arrests were made as part of a Garda operation this morning investigating organised crime, led by Assistant Commissioner's National Support Services.
The investigation was focusing on the theft of ATM machines from business premises in the regions, and culminated this morning in a number of searches and a series of arrests being made.
Detectives from the National Bureau of Criminal Investigation, including the Organised Crime Unit, along with detectives from the Eastern and South Eastern Regions were involved in the operation.
A total of 13 suspects were arrested, including ten males and three females, while 23 searches were carried out. The arrests and searches took place in a number of locations in Counties Carlow, Wexford, Kilkenny, Dublin and Meath.
Those arrested have been detained in a number of Garda stations, with eight of those arrested being held under the Criminal Justice Act and five under the Offences Against the State Act.
The Garda Stations involved are Enniscorthy, New Ross, Gorey, Kilkenny, Thomastown, Carlow, Kells, Finglas, Clondalkin and Ballyfermot.

Customs Seize 120,000 Illegal Cigarettes
Cigarettes with an estimated retail value of €57,000 have been seized by customs officers at Cork Airport. Some 120,000 Marlboro cigarettes were discovered in 12 suitcases that had arrived on a flight from Wroclaw, Poland. Garda arrested two men, understood to be Polish nationals, in connection with the find.

Man Arrested Over €400,000 Cannabis Find
Cannabis with an estimated value of €400,000 has been seized in Co Donegal. Members of the Revenue and Gardaí uncovered the drugs during a search at Castlefin on Tuesday. Garda arrested a man in his 30s in connection with the find.

Man Arrested Following Drugs Find
Drugs with an estimated street value of €170,000 have been seized by gardai during a raid on a property in west Dublin. Cocaine and cannabis was found during the raid at a house in Balgaddy. A gun and ammunition were also discovered. A 37-year=old has been arrested and is being detained at Ronanstown Garda Station.

Three More Questioned Over Quinn Murder
Three men are being questioned by the PSNI about the brutal gang-murder of Co Armagh man Paul Quinn after three others were arrested by gardaí earlier. The three men arrested by the PSNI are from the Crossmaglen and Cullyhanna areas and while two are aged in their 50s, one is in his 20s.
