Teen Dies On 'Treacherous' Roads
A teenager has been tragically killed in Co Kerry thanks to road conditions that have been described as "treacherous".
The fatal road traffic accident occurred along the Tarbert to Ballylongford road in the early hours of this morning.
Gardai in Listowel are investigating the circumstances of the collision, which involved a single car.
According to local officers, the collision occurred at approximately 5.40am. There was one male driver of the car who was 19-years-old. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Motorists have been warned to take care on the roads today due to flooding and black ice in parts of the country.
Many of the State's roads have been described as experiencing "treacherous icy conditions", according to AA Road Watch, who have strongly advised motorists to "Slow down!"
The collision occurred at a place called Dunard Upper on the Tarbert to Ballylongford Road. Gardai are looking for witnesses to contact them in Listowel on 068 50820 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.
The road remains closed until the afternoon pending a forensic collision examination.
AA Roadwatch have reported that road conditions are improving throughout the country however drivers are asked to continue to drive with caution on back roads

Two Dead In Separate Collisions
Two people have died on Ireland's roads after traffic collisions in Dublin and Kilkenny in the last two days. In the latest incident, a male aged 19 was fatally injured when the motorcycle he was driving collided with a stationary vehicle. His body was taken to Tallaght Hospital.

Woman Seriously Injured In Three-Car Accident
A woman has been seriously injured following a three-car collision on the N4 Dublin/Sligo Road. The crash occurred on the Edgeworth Road at approximately 5.30pm on Wednesday (7 January). The woman is currently being treated at Midland Regional Hospital. The main Dublin/Sligo Road has been closed and diversions are in place.

In the most recent incident, a man aged 27 was fatally injured when the SUV and trailer he was driving crashed at Shangort, Partry, Castlebar. There was no other vehicle involved in the crash.
