If You 'Don't Hold Rights By Now', Says Mick

Simply Red lead singer Mick Hucknall and saxophonist Chris De Margary have filed for an injunction against the owners of a neighbouring estate in Co Donegal in a dispute over hunting and shooting rights.

The pop band members have been involved in the dispute with their neighbour John Wilde since 2005 when they bought the estate named Glenmore Lodge near Ballybofey.

Mr Wilde of nearby Cloghan Lodge claims the previous owners of Glenmore transferred sporting rights to the estate to his father, however, this is disputed by Mr Hucknell and Mr De Margary.

The Simply Red members say they bought all the sporting rights when they purchased Glenmore Lodge from Thomas Mackie in August 2005 and they claim Mr Wilde has been interfering with and has laid claim to those rights since that time.

Mick Hucknall and Chris De Margary sought an interlocutory injunction to stop Mr Wilde interfering with their rights until such time as a full hearing of the case takes place.

However, Judge John O'Hagan said that could take years to sort out and he adjourned the case this morning for a period to give both sides time to sort it out.
