Trio In Court Over Armed Robbery

Three men are to appear in court facing charges of armed robbery on a post office in Dublin.

The three will appear in court at 10.30am this morning, charged in connection with the attempted robbery at Finglas Post Office on the Monday.

Two will appear at Blanchardstown District Court and one will appear at the Juvenile Court in Smithfield.

The three men were initially detained in connection with an attempted armed robbery in Dublin on Monday morning.

During the arrests, Garda also recovered a firearm following what Gardai believe to have been an attempted robbery at a post office in Finglas village.

The incident happened at about 8.00am this morning. Local Gardai and Traffic Corp Gardai, responding to reports of the three man acting suspiciously at Ballygall Road, Finglas arrested three men near the scene.

Gardaí recovered what they believe to be a firearm, they also recovered gloves, masks and boilersuits. The area was analysed by forensic technical examiners.

Two men are due to appear at Dublin District Court today charged in connection with an attempted armed robbery of a post office at Killnamanagh on 16 June. The men are suspected of demanding money from staff with a hammer. They fled the scene empty-handed but were arrested by garda a short time later.

Donegal Post Office Robbery Investigated
Gardaí in Co Donegal have launched an investigation after a post office in Ramelton was robbed. It is understood that the robbery was carried out by three men, who escaped with an undisclosed sum of money. The scene has been sealed off for a technical examination.

Four people have been arrested in connection with a post office robbery in Clogherhead, Co Louth, in May. Three men, aged 30, 33 and 42, and a woman aged 23, were arrested in the Louth area this morning (Monday), in connection with the robbery on Tuesday, 03 May, 2016.

Three Released Following Post Office Robbery
Three men arrested in connection of a post office robbery in Roscommon have been released without charge. Two masked men, one believed to be armed, entered the premises at around 9.30am on Tuesday in Strokestown. They threatened staff and made off with an undisclosed sum of cash. A file will be sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions.
