Luas Red Line Docklands Extension Opens

The Luas Red Line extension to Dublin's docklands has opened to the public for the first time today, with free transport for commuters until 3pm today.

There are four new stops on the new extension - at George's Dock, Mayor Square, Spencer Dock and the Point.

The route passes the Harbourmaster bar and restaurant and will serve the National College of Ireland, the 02 and the Point Village.

The line is being officially opened by Minister for Transport Noel Dempsey today, with normal passenger services beginning tomorrow morning from 5:30am.

Irish Woman To Be Charged Over Terrorist Offence
An Irish citizen arrested on suspicion of terrorist offences has been charged to appear in court. The 38 year-old will appear before a sitting of the District Court, Criminal Courts of Justice today, Wednesday 04 December. Irish Distillers distillery in Midleton, producers of Jamesons whiskey, have officially opened their €100m extension. Taoiseach Enda Kenny officially opened the facility, which has created 60 new jobs and will allow the distiller to double its production.

€5.7m Extension At Meanscoil Iognáid Rís Opens
The Minister for Education and Skills, Ruairí Quinn T.D., has officially opened the €5.7 million extension and refurbishment at Meanscoil Iognáid Rís, Naas, Co Kildare. Meanscoil Iognáid Rís has 872 students and is projecting an increase to 920 students this September.

Fine Gael Accuse Government Of Transport Faiure
The Fine Gael deputy leader has hit out at the Government's Transport Strategy, which he said is a “failure”. Richard Bruton TD claims 75% of new commuters take the car and said that, at the halfway stage, the Government has failed to deliver on its ambition.
