Balbriggan Fatal Accident Probed
Gardai at Balbriggan, Co Dublin are investigating a fatal road traffic collision which occurred at Balrothery, Balbriggan, on the R132 at approximately 8am this morning, (Wednesday).
A car and a motorcyclist were in collision. The male motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. His body has been removed to Connolly Hospital, Blanchardstown.
The driver of the car was uninjured.
The road remains closed pending a forensic collision examination and diversions are in place.
This afternoon, Gardai appealed to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who may have any information to contact Balbriggan Gardai on 01-8020510.

Man Dies After Being Hit By Car In Co Dublin
A pedestrian has died in hospital after he was hit by a car in County Dublin. The serious collision occurred on the Whitestown Road in Rush at around lunchtime on Friday 07 June. The man, aged in his 30's, was rushed to Beaumont Hospital with critical injuries but passed away on Sunday 09. The driver of the car was uninjured.

Two Dead In Separate Collisions
Two people have died on Ireland's roads after traffic collisions in Dublin and Kilkenny in the last two days. In the latest incident, a male aged 19 was fatally injured when the motorcycle he was driving collided with a stationary vehicle. His body was taken to Tallaght Hospital.

Dunleer Crash Victims Named
The woman and son killed in County Louth yesterday after their car collided with a wall have been named. Leontina Covaci (35 years) and Ezacheal Covaci (9 years) of Rivervale Grove, Dunleer, Co. Louth, died at around 2.30pm along the old M1, south of Castlebellingham.

Cyclist Killed In Monaghan
Gardai in Carrickmacross are investigating a fatal road traffic collision involving a cyclist and a vehicle on Tuesday. At approximately 10.15am, on the N2 Carrickmacross to Castleblaney Road, a 23-year-old male cyclist was fatally injured when he was struck by a vehicle that failed to stop. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Driver Killed In Mayo Crash Named
The male driver killed in a traffic collision in County Mayo yesterday has been named by Gardai this morning. Peter Meenan a 61-year-old from Ballyhaunis, in Mayo was killed in a road collision that occurred between 2.30pm and 2.45pm on the main Claremorris to Ballyhaunis road (N60) at the townland of Cuilmore.
