Gardaí Question Hit And Run Suspect
The driver of a car involved in a hit-and-run incident which claimed the life of a young student yesterday has been questioned by gardai.
The man presented himself to gardai yesterday, only hours after the tragic incident. Gardai interviewed the man yesterday afternoon.
During the incident, which resulted in the death of popular student Joe McLaughlin, the driver had failed to remain at the scene of the collision, which happened at 4.40am at Tiernaleague, Carndonagh.
Mr McLaughlin is survived by his parents, Willie Joe, a farmer, and Mary, a retired nurse, and three sisters.
A post-mortem examination was carried out on the body of the 23-year-old student at Letterkenny Hospital yesterday. He was struck just a few minutes walk from his home. A passing taxi driver discovered the body and had raised the alarm.
Gardai at Buncrana are still appealing for witnesses to the fatal collision and anyone with information is asked to contact Buncrana Garda Station on 074-9320540, the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.

Gardai Investigate After Man Is Shot
Gardai are carrying out an investigation after a man was shot in the leg and arm in Dublin. The incident occurred at around 6.30pm in Palmerstown Park in Ronanstown. The victim, 26, was taken to Connolly Hospital and his condition is not believed to be life threatening.

A Gardaí operation in Dublin has turned up a major drug find resulting in arrests and the seizure of a heroin stash worth almost €5 million. According to a Gardaí spokesman, an ongoing operation targeting illegal drug activity in the South Dublin area led officers from the National Support Services to stop a van in the Templeogue area.

Dublin Teenager Found 'Safe And Well'
A teenager who went missing from Dublin has been found "safe and well". Sean Costello, 15, went missing from Ballymun just after midnight on Sunday, 31 July. Gardai launched an appeal as they were concerned for his welfare. However, they have confirmed he has been found "safe and well". Gardai also thanked the public for their assistance.

Missing Teenager From England Found 'Safe And Well'
A missing teenager from England has been found "safe and well", according to Gardai. Ricky Wall, 15, originally from Crumlin, had been missing from Suffolk from 11 April. However, Gardai said today, 04 May, they had located Ricky. Gardai also thanked the public for their existence.
