Two Arrested Over Death Of Infant
Gardaí are holding two people in connection with the death of a 10-day-old baby boy.
The baby died in hospital a week ago following an incident at a house in Lusk in north Co Dublin.
Gardai in Balbriggan investigating the circumstances surrounding the death, which is believed to have occurred during a party at the address, arrested the male and female who both in their mid 20s, in Navan yesterday evening.
Several hours later the infant was taken by family members to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda where he died despite intensive efforts to save him.
Forensic experts examined the house for several days and all those attending the party in the house at the time have been interviewed by the gardaí.
The male is detained under the Offences Against The State Act 1939 in Whitehall Garda Station. The female is detained under the Criminal Justice Act in Balbriggan Garda Station.
A Post Mortem was carried out at the Louth County Hospital in Dundalk and the results have been made available to investigating officers.

Three Die In Separate House Fires
Two men and a woman have died in three separate house fires in Limerick and Kerry. In the latest incident, a man in his 60s died following a house fire in Tralee in Co Kerry. The fire broke out in the terraced house in Connolly Park at about 9.30pm yesterday. Gardaí were called to the scene at around 9.

Investigation Launches Following Fatal House Fire In Co Cavan
An investigation has been launched following a fatal house fire in Co Cavan. The blaze was reported in the Church Street area at 2.15pm on Monday. Emergency services attained the scene and woman's body was discovered in the house. She is believed to be aged in her 70's.
