Appeal Launched After Dublin Murder

An appeal has been launched into the shooting of a man in Dublin on Saturday.

The victim was a 27-year-old from the area and was shot after socializing in the Priorswood Inn in the Coolock area of Dublin city.

Gardai investigating the murder are appealing to the public for assistance. IT is believed the murder scene was in a cul-de-sac near the inn on Ferrycarrig Road, Priorswood, Coolock at approximately 10.20pm on Saturday night.

There is a laneway that leads from this cul-de-sac to Macroom Road, which could have been used as an escape route.

Gardai believe that many people passing through the area including taxi-drivers and people making takeaway food deliveries may have seen something unusual or suspicious.

Gardaí are also asking patrons of the Priorswood in establishment to come forward and assist them.

Officers are anxious to speak to anyone that was in the area around the time of the incident to come forward in confidence and contact them at the incident room which has been set up at Clontarf Garda Station 01-6664832 or the Garda Confidential line 1-800-666-111.

The body has been removed from the scene and the post mortem is scheduled to take place later today.
