Techno Firm Announces 100 Jobs

The parent company of PC World and Currys has today announced plans for 100 new jobs in Ireland.

DSG Retail Ireland said it would be opening new stores while re-branding its existing stores to a 'two brands in one' format - with Currys and PC World under one roof.

The company is itself part of DSG international plc which is one of the largest consumer electronics retailers in Europe.

Formerly known as Dixons Stores Group plc, the company specializes in selling high technology consumer electronics products, audio-video equipment, PCs, small and large domestic appliances, photographic equipment, communication products and related financial and after sales services

In a statement today, the company also said it was developing plans to completely re-fit the PC World store in Galway and the Currys and PC World stores in Limerick following the success of Currys in Galway.

It says the Galway store has traded 'significantly above expectations' since its refurbishment late last year.

DSG says business will operate as normal during these developments and no existing jobs will be affected.
