Four Killed On Irish Roads This Weekend
A number of separate road crashes this weekend have claimed four lives, including a father and son.
John Gallagher, 55, and his 24-year-old son Sean died when their car collided with another vehicle at Burt on Saturday morning.
The collision occurred at the junction of Slab Road, Burt, on the Main Letterkenny to Derry Road at approximately 10.10am on Saturday morning.
Both men were pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver and sole occupant of the second car, a female of 59 years, was taken to Letterkenny Hospital where she is described as being stable.
Meanwhile, gardai in Milford, County Donegal are investigating the circumstances of a fatal road traffic collision in which a 60-year-old male received serious injuries on Friday evening.
It is believed the pedestrian was struck by the vehicle and later died on his way to hospital. The occupants of the vehicle were uninjured.
The road was closed for a Forensic collision examination but has been re-opened.
Lastly, a 26-year-old male was fatally injured in a single vehicle road traffic collision on the southbound lane of the M7 motorway.
The incident occurred approx 15 miles north of Portlaoise before 8.20am again on Saturday.
The man died at the scene and the road was closed for a forensic collision examination.

Tragic Road Accidents Blight Irish Roads
A woman has been knocked down and killed in a road traffic accident in Ballymoney, Co Antrim. The police have confirmed that the victim was a female pedestrian, aged 56, and that she died after being struck by a vehicle on the Lislagan Road on Wednesday evening. The PSNI are now appealing for anyone who was travelling in the area between 8pm and 8.

She was a passenger in a car that struck a wall in Kilmacrennan at 3.45am on Sunday morning. The man driving the car was taken to Letterkenny General Hospital, but his injuries are not serious.
