Gun And Drugs' Find Leads To Arrests

Gardaí in Clondalkin arrested four people in relation to a discovery of drugs and a firearm at a house yesterday.

Officers from the Gardaí Drugs Unit at Clondalkin, assisted by the District Detective Unit and members from Operations Anvil, searched a house at Grange View Road, Clondalkin, Dublin 22 at approximately 9pm on Sunday.

Heroin - subject to analysis - with a street value of approximately €4,200, a handgun, two bullet proof vests and other drug paraphernalia were found during the course of the search.

Three men, 20, 23 and 24 years-of-age, and a woman, 26, were arrested in relation to the incident.

They are currently detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939 as amended in Clondalkin Garda Station.

Man Killed In Saggart Shooting
An investigation has been launched into the death of a man following a shooting in Saggart in Co Dublin. It is understood a man in his 40s was attacked at about 23:00 on Tuesday at a house in Botherboy. He was later pronounced dead at Tallaght Hospital. The scene of the shooting has been sealed off pending a forensic examination.

Two Arrested In Connection With Dean Johnson Murder
Two men in their 20's have been arrested in connection with the murder of Dean Johnson in Dublin in August. Mr Johnson was shot dead at Neilstown Road, Clondalkin. A number of searches were carried out by gardai in Ronanstown, Clondalkin, Cabra and Kilock and two males were arrested.

Man Due In Court Over Clondalkin Cocaine Seizure
Cocaine worth an estimated €210,000 has been seized by gardaí in Clondalkin. Officers from the Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (DOCB) uncovered the drugs when they stopped and searched a van on Saturday afternoon, 11 June. During the course of the search, Gardaí discovered approximately 3kg of cocaine with an approximate street value of €210,000.

Two Arrested Digging Up €1m In Cash
Two men have been arrested after being caught digging up more than €1 million in cash on the outskirts of Limerick. The men were found digging up the money in an area known as Portcrusha, Montpelier, Co. Limerick, on Sunday. It is believed that the money is the proceeds of crime.

Arrests Made After €400,000 Cannabis Seizure
Garda in Co Galway have arrested two men following the seizure of cannabis with an estimate value of €400,000. Officers from the National Drugs Unit carried out a search of a private residence in Tuam, Co Galway, at around 17:00 on Tuesday, uncovering 20kg of the drug. Two men, aged 49 and 41, were arrested at the scene.
