Drugs Link In Irish Naval 'Secrets' Trial

A court martial is taking place today into allegations of the passing of vital State secrets.

A drugs link has emerged as a member of the Irish Naval Service is put on trial on charges of disclosing information about State ships at sea.

The military court martial in Dublin is against Able Seaman Eoin Gray, who is attached to the LÉ Orla.

He is also charged with conspiracy to aid people unknown to import cocaine between the 4 and 15 December 2008.

He is also charged with having cocaine in his possession and with having counterfeit hair straighteners, but has pleaded not guilty to all five charges.
