Police Review CCTV In Cork Assault Probe
CCTV is to be used in the hunt for those responsible for a serious assault in Cork overnight.
Gardaí in Cork are investigating the incident in which a man, who had sustained head injuries, was found lying unconscious on a footpath at Sullivan's Quay near the city centre yesterday evening.
The man, thought to be in his mid-to-late 20s, was taken to Cork University Hospital where his condition was described as serious but stable.
He is believed to have been the victim of an assault.
Detectives have appealed for anyone who was in the area at the time to contact them to assist in the inquiry and said they will also examine CCTV footage from the locality.

Serious Assault In Cork City Leaves Man Critical
A man is in critical condition following an assault in Cork city on Thursday night, 12 September. The individual is fighting for his life after he was targeted on St Patrick's Street shortly after 9pm. After being taken to Cork University Hospital in serious condition, his state deteriorated overnight.

Clonmel Murder Accused In Court
A local man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a 20-year-old woman in Clonmel, Co Tipperary on Tuesday. Joanne Mangan died after she was stabbed in an attack at her home in Ballynamuddagh, near the village of Grange. Her 23-year-old brother Eddie was also stabbed during the attack.

Two Charged Over Cork Assault
Two men have been arrested in connection with a serious assault on a businessman at a Cork industrial estate on Tuesday. A man returning to his business at Churchfield Industrial Estate at about 16:45 on Tuesday was approached by two men, who demanded money. Following a struggle, the 30-year-old man was left with serious injuries.
