Gardai Appeal Following Two Robberies

An appeal has been made for information or witnesses to come forward after two unrelated robberies in the State.

The Gardai have reiterated their appeal for information on the robbery of a filling station in Tullaghan, Co.Leitrim.

Four men broke into Rodger’s Filling Station on the Main Sligo to Bundoran road in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

A safe containing a substantial sum of money was taken and the gang left in a car that was travelling in the direction of Sligo.

Detectives from Manorhamilton Garda Station visited the scene yesterday and enquiries into the robbery are on-going.

Anyone with any information regarding the robbery is being asked to contact either Kinlough or Manorahmilton Garda Station.

Gardai in Sligo are also appealing for information following an armed robbery at Cliffoney Post Office yesterday morning.

Four masked men entered the premises at about 11.30 armed with a firearm and hammer and held the post mistress at gunpoint.

They fled the scene with a small amount of cash in a green Opel Astra.

The car was later found burnt out in a nearby wooded area and it's believed the culprits changed vehicle to a gold coloured car.

Crime Prevention Officer with Sligo Garda Station, Sergeant Jim Fox said they are appealing to anyone who saw either vehicle in the vicinity or any witnesses to the robbery to come forward.
