Questioning Of 'Tiger Kidnap' Suspects Continue

Two men are still being held in connection with a Tiger Kidnapping that occurred last October in west Dublin.

The men, aged in their 30s and 40s, were arrested yesterday in Phibsboro and Crumlin by gardaí investigating the kidnapping which involved the abduction of a female bank official and her family in the Lucan area of the capital.

Detectives at Lucan and Ronanstown Garda stations are questioning the men under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act.

During the incident, an armed gang forced their way into the Bank of Ireland employee’s house in Johnsbridge estate in the early hours of October 23rd, taking her family hostage.

The woman’s two children, aged three and six, were tied up by the gang and bundled into a car along with their father.

While her family was held hostage, the woman was forced to retrieve an undisclosed quantity of money from the Inchicore branch of the bank where she worked.

Her husband and the children were later taken to the back of a garage in Rathangan, Co Kildare where they managed to set themselves free and raise the alarm.
