Three Killed On Ireland's Roads Over Weekend

A total of three people have been killed on Ireland's roads this weekend in separate incidents.

On Saturday, A 34 year old male driver of motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene of an accident after a in County Galway.

The accident took place on a minor road at Cahercon, Kinvarra, Co. Galway at 12.25pm.

Gardai at Gort said they are investigating the single vehicle fatal collision iand that the driver's remains have been taken to University College Hospital Galway.

The road was closed for technical examination but has since reopened.

Meanwhile, Gardai at Ashbourne are investigating the circumstances of a single vehicle fatal road traffic collision, which occurred on another minor road in County Meath.

During the incident a 17-year-old male passenger sustained serious injuries when the car he was travelling in collided with a ditch at Ballyhack, Kilbrew, Ashbourne at approximately 12.10am.

The teenager was taken by Ambulance to Our Lady’s Hospital Navan where he was pronounced dead. The driver and a second passenger, both male and aged in their late teens, were not injured.

The road is currently closed for technical examination and diversions are in place.

Lastly, a male pedestrian was injured when he was struck by a car at approximately 3.40am on Sunday morning on the N11 at Stillorgan, at Blake’s Cross. He was pronounced dead at approximately 8.30pm yesterday evening.

Gardai at Maynooth, Co Kildare are investigating the most recent incident when a two vehicle fatal road traffic collision occurred at Laraghbyran, Maynooth last night 19th October 10.00pm. The collision involved two cars.

Man Killed In Co Mayo Crash
A man has been killed in a crash in Co Mayo. The incident happened shortly before 6pm on Tuesday at Newpark in Swinford when a car left the road. The 64-year-old male driver suffered fatal injuries in the crash while a female passenger received minor injuries.

Two Killed On Ireland's Roads Over Weekend
Two male drivers have died in separate road collisions over the weekend. Gardai are investigating the latest incident, which occurred on N9 at Bagenalstown, County Carlow at approximately 6.25am yesterday. A 17-year-old male was fatally injured when the car he was driving collided with a wall. He was pronounced dead at scene.
