Two Arrested Over 'Don' Murder
Two men have been arrested in connection with the murder of crime lord Eamon 'the Don' Dunne in April.
Gardai investigating the fatal shooting of the notorious Eamon Dunne in Dublin said they had this morning arrested two men aged in their 20s.
The men were arrested in the Dublin area and are currently detained at Mountjoy and Whitehall Garda Stations under Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act, 1939.
Gardaí believed the killing of one of Dublin's most powerful gang leaders may have been carried out by a foreign organised crime boss.
The drug dealer and gang leader was killed on April 23 in the Faussagh House in Cabra, north Dublin in what was been described as a "professional" gun attack.
Gardaí since revealed they believe the killers had sent an accomplice to the pub to confirm exactly where Dunne was sitting.
During the incident one of the gunmen walked over to Dunne, pushing people out of the way. He began shooting at Dunne from behind, discharging at least six shots from a 9mm automatic pistol. The killing was captured on CCTV inside the pub.
The attack was over in seconds and the gunmen ran out the front door.
A third masked man stood at the door to prevent anybody entering the pub while the attack took place while a fourth man, the getaway driver, stayed in the getaway vehicle.
