Man Charged Over Wicklow Death
A 22-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the discovery of a body on a roadside in Wicklow over the weekend.
He was charged with causing serious harm under Section 4 of the non fatal offences against the Persons Act. Gardaí have not released the man's name, but he is due before a Special Sitting of Bray District court later today.
The victim - 22-year-old John O'Brien - was found with serious head injuries on the Farranekelly Road near Greystones on Friday night.
A post mortem examination revealed he died as a result of a violent assault.
Gardaí have asked for information from anyone who was in the vicinity of Farranakelly Road or Charlesland area on Friday night between 11 and 12 midnight, or anyone who was in the vicinity of the apartments of Farranakelly Close, which overlook the scene, at around the same time.
Gardai can be contacted at the incident room that has been established in Bray Garda station at 6665319, on the Garda Confidential Line at 1800 666 111, or at any Garda station around the country.

Witnesses To Enniskerry Crash Sought

A man has been charged with arson in connection with a petrol bomb attack on Killarney Garda Station, the Irish Times have reported. At a special sitting of the Killorglin District Court, the unidentified man was granted bail on strict conditions, and will appear again on Thursday at Tralee District Court.

A cyclist was fatally injured when hit by a car in Scrahanfadda, on Sunday, 01 July. The elderly man is being detained at Bandon Garda Station under the provisions of Section 4- Criminal Justice Act 1984.

A man, 27, has appeared in court charged with the murder of Gerard Donnelly in the Phoenix Park on Friday. Mr Donnelly is believed to have been burned to death and he also had a fractured skull. Ciaran Moran the accused has been remanded in custody. Meanwhile, a 17-year-old has also been arrested in connection with the murder.
