Man Arrested After Teen Abducted
A man has been arrested in connection with an incdent of abduction in Dublin yesterday, when a teenager was bundled into a car boot.
Gardaí at Swords are investigating the alledged assault and subsequent abduction that occurred at Beaverstown Road, Donabate, shortly before 5.30am yesterday morning.
During the incident, a 16-year-old male was bundled into the boot of a silver Volkswagen Passat after he and friends were involved in an altercation with another group of males.
The car took off in the direction of Donabate village and the injured party was not released from the boot of the car until shortly after 9am.
He was released adjacent to the M50 in the Clondalkin area and was taken to Beaumont hospital where he was treated for his injuries.
A Gardaí spokesman said the teenager he has since been released from hospital.
As the result of a follow up investigation and search a 19-year-old man was arrested in the Clondalkin area and is currently detained at Swords Garda Station under section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
The silver Volkswagen Passat used in the incident has also been recovered.

A third person is being questioned by gardaí investigating the murder of David Sharkey. The body of 28-year-old Mr Sharkey, with an address at Claremont Estate in Navan in Co Meath, was found in the boot of a silver BMW that had crashed into a wall at St Joseph's Park in Dunsink Lane in Finglas. Two of the suspects are women aged 18 and 22.

Gardai at Kevin Street are investigating the circumstances linked to the discovery of the body of a male aged 30 years at approximately 11.30pm, late on Monday night.
