Benone Pub Death Case For Court

A teenager is to appear in court today relating to the death of Gary Butcher.

The victim aged 39 and from Magilligan - died after a disturbance in Bob's Bar and Bistro on the Seacoast Road between Limavady and Benone - late on Friday night/early Saturday morning.

A 25-year-old who had also been arrested was released on bail.

Mr Butcher was pronounced dead at the scene at around 1am on Saturday after trouble at the isolated licensed premises near the scenic Benone Beach area - between Downhill and Bellarena.

The 19-year-old man is expected to appear before Londonderry Magistrates Court.

Eamon Carroll's troubled property group Zoe is to go back to the High Court today to find out if it will be allowed a fourth bid to gain court protection. Mr Justice Frank Clarke last week again rejected an application from the heavily indebted group for the appointment of an examiner to seven of the Zoe companies.

Elderly Man Killed In Waterford House Fire
An elderly man has died following a house fire in Waterford city. Emergency services were called to the scene in Balleytruckle Court shortly before 5am on Saturday 31 August. The blaze was brought under control by fire crews however the man's body was located in the house. Gardaí say foul play is not currently suspected.

Supreme Court Judge Adrian Hardiman Dies
Supreme Court judge Adrian Hardiman has died suddenly at his home in Dublin. Taoiseach Enda Kenny said he was shocked to hear the news of his death. He said: "Adrian had a long and illustrious legal career and was one of the great minds of our time.
