Appeal Launched Over Finglas Shooting
An appeal has been launched over the shooting of Anthony and Ciaran McDonagh in Finglas earlier this month.
Gardai at Cabra Garda Station investigating the shooting said today they are seeking the public's assistance over the incident, which occurred at 9.10am on the morning of Thursday the 15 July on the River Road, between Finglas and Ashtown.
A spokesman for Gardai said they are making a fresh appeal to the public, specifically for anyone who may have been on the River Road, Ratoath Road, or Dunsink Lane on the morning of the shooting. In particular, they would like to speak to anyone who was walking along the River Road or the occupants of cars travelling or parked along the River Road on the day.
"We are also appealing to anyone who saw a car on fire at Ballyboggan Road near the junction of the Finglas Dual Carriageway to contact us," the spokesman said.
He added that two men in their 20s were seen running from this car as it went on fire.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the incident room at Cabra Garda Station at 01-6667432 or Cabra Garda Station at 01-6667400.

Man Arrested Over River Road Shooting
A man is this morning being held in connection with a shooting incident in the River Road area of Dublin. The arrest is the first to be made in the case, which occurred in July of this year. During the incident, which occurred at about 9.20am on July 15, a gunman approached two men in a van in River Road, Dublin 7.

Woman's Body Discovered In Ennis
An investigation has been launched following the discovery of a woman's body in Ennis early today, Tuesday 04 February. The body was found at about 6am this morning by a passer-by on a walkway alongside the River Fergus. It is understood that garda do not believe the woman's death to be suspicious "at this stage".

Witnesses Sought Following Fatal Road Accident In Co Louth
Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to a fatal road accident in Collon, Co Louth. The single vehicle road accident happened at about 1am on Tuesday morning close to Brannigan's Cross on the Collon to Tinure Road. A 32-year-old man, the sole occupant of the car, suffered serious injuries when his car left the road and struck a ditch.

Truckers Withdraw Threats Of Further Protests
Truckers from the Irish Road Haulage Association has withdrawn threats of further protests. The Department of Transport has agreed for a meeting with Minister Noonan, Minister Donohoe and Minister Kelly to reach a satisfactory solution to the current HGV road tax issue. A date for a meeting is to be confirmed.
