Wedding Day Murder Tragedy Probed

The cause of death of a south Belfast woman tragically found murdered on her 51st birthday - that was also the day she was due to marry - hasn't yet been made public.

Patricia Bardon's body was discovered at her flat at Elm Court in the Donegall Pass area on Monday and detectives from the PSNI's serious crime branch are now trying to establish Ms Bardon's movements in the days before her death.

What is known is that a 53-year-old man - believed to be Ms Bardon's fiance - has been arrested and today remains in police custody.

Detective Chief Inspector John McVea, who is in charge of the investigation, said her murder was a terrible tragedy.

He said they want to know where Ms Bardon was in the days leading up to her death and wants to speak to anyone who saw her or spoke to her anytime between Friday 21 August and Monday 23 August.
