Driver Killed In Mayo Crash Named
The male driver killed in a traffic collision in County Mayo yesterday has been named by Gardai this morning.
Peter Meenan a 61-year-old from Ballyhaunis, in Mayo was killed in a road collision that occurred between 2.30pm and 2.45pm on the main Claremorris to Ballyhaunis road (N60) at the townland of Cuilmore.
Gardai in Claremorris are investigating the fatal road traffic collision, which involved a car and a van on Monday.
The male driver in the car was pronounced dead at the scene. A female passenger has been removed to Mayo General Hospital while two people who were in the van were uninjured.
The scene has been preserved for a technical examination, and diversions are in place.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Claremorris Garda station at 094 937 2080, or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.
Meanwhile, Gardai are investigating a fatal road traffic collision on the N9 near Paulstown, County Kilkenny yesterday evening. The crash happened at 5.20pm involving a truck and a car.
The driver of the car, a woman in her early 20s, was fatally injured in the collision. A male passenger in the car received minor injuries and was removed to St. Luke's Hospital in Kilkenny. The truck driver was uninjured.
The road at the scene of the crash is closed pending a technical examination of the area by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and diversions are in place.

Four Men Dead In Separate Collisions
A total of four men have died in a spate of separate car collisions over the weekend. In the most recent incident, a motorcyclist collided with a pick-up truck towing a trailer, resulting in the death of the motorcyclist, a man in his late 20s. The collision which occurred at Cloghnadromin, Ballysimon, CoLimerick at approx 1.30pm on Sunday.

Four Killed On Irish Roads This Weekend
A number of separate road crashes this weekend have claimed four lives, including a father and son. John Gallagher, 55, and his 24-year-old son Sean died when their car collided with another vehicle at Burt on Saturday morning. The collision occurred at the junction of Slab Road, Burt, on the Main Letterkenny to Derry Road at approximately 10.

The 45-year-old male driver of a car was killed when his vehicle was in collision with a tanker. The deceased has been removed to University College Hospital Galway.
