Eight Arrested Over Slattery Murder
A Gardai search in Limerick has led to the arrest of eight people in connection with the murder of 24-year-old Lee Slattery in May of this year.
Officers in Limerick investigating the young father's murder said they have this morning arrested eight people in the north and south areas of Limerick City as part of a search and arrest operation.
Mr Slattery, who was from Monabraher Road, Ballynanty in Limerick city, suffered at least three gunshot wounds before his body was thrown into a grave and buried on the outskirts of Moyross over three months ago.
However, this morning, Gardai from Limerick supported by the Southern Regional Support Unit and the National Bureau of Criminal Investigation carried out the latest stage in the ongoing operation.
The five males and three females range in ages from mid teens to early 40’s and are being detained at various stations in the Limerick and Clare Divisions.
Five of the people are being detained under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act and three are being detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.
The investigation is continuing and anyone with information is asked to contact Mayorstone Garda Station on 061-456980, the Garda Confidential Line 1800-666-111, or any Garda Station.
