Pair Arrested Over Tiger Kidnapping

A man and woman have been arrested this morning in connection with a 'tiger kidnapping' incident in Dublin at the start of September.

Gardai investigating the incident, involving the abduction of a woman from Terenure and subsequent theft of cash form the AIB in Clondalkin, arrested the male and a female, both in their late 20’s, this morning in the Navan area of County Meath.

They were arrested at approx 7am and are currently detained at Terenure Garda Station and are held under Section 50 Criminal Justice Act 2007.

Meanwhile, a male in his 30’s is due to appear at the Criminal Courts Of Justice, Parkgate Street this afternoon in relation to the abduction and robbery.

The incident took place at about 11pm on September 1st, when three masked men, at least one of whom was armed with a sawn-off shotgun, broke into the home of an AIB bank manager at Domville Drive, Templeogue, south Dublin.

The men took the bank official's wife from her home while her husband was ordered to carry out the theft at the Clondalkin village branch.

The cash was dropped off at an arranged site before the man‘s wife was freed hours later near a quarry in rural Wicklow.
