Woman Slashed In Face In Dublin
A woman has suffered a slash wound to her face, during an attack in Dublin that also left a man in a "serious" condition in hospital.
The 33-year-old man and woman, aged 40, were injured in the stabbing incident, which took place around 4.30pm on Saturday.
Gardai at Clondalkin said they wished to appeal for witnesses to the assault, which happened along Melrose Avenue in Clondalkin, Dublin.
As a result of the assault the 33-year-old man was taken to Tallaght Hospital with head injuries. He has since been transferred to Beaumont Hospital and is described as being in a serious condition.
The woman suffered a wound to her face and it is understood that a knife and a bottle were used.
Gardaí said they are keen to talk to anyone who was in the vicinity of Melrose Avenue and may have witnessed the assault or anyone who may have any information regarding the assault, to contact the incident room at Clondalkin Garda Station on 01-6667600 or the Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800-666-111.

A bomb-blasted former soldier has appeared in court in Belfast charged with rape and false imprisonment. Gerald Verner, 23, of Forthriver Park, who was deafened by a bomb in Afghanistan, is also accused of inflicting grievous bodily harm, sexual assault and threats to kill against the same woman.

Woman Critical After Assault At Maternity Hospital
A woman has been viciously assaulted at the entrance of a maternity hospital in Dublin. The 29-year-old was badly injured during the assault and is said to be in a critical condition in hospital. Gardai in Fitzgibbon Street have today launched an appeal for witnesses to the assault which a Gardaí spokesman described as "serious".

Woman Stabbed In Athy
A woman has been stabbed in Athy, Co Kildare. The woman, believed to be in her 60s, was stabbed just before noon, on Tuesday. She was taken to Naas General Hospital and was treated with minor injuries. Gardai have launched an investigation. No arrests have been made.
