Man Due In Court Over Coolock Assault
A man is due in court this morning in facing charges of serious assault against a Polish National in North Dublin.
Gardai in the Coolock area of the Capital charged the man, who is in his 20s yesterday in relation to the serious assault, which occurred at Newtown Industrial Estate in Coolock.
The victim, a 27-year-old Polish man, is in a critical condition in hospital following the attack, which happened as the man was on his way to work in the early hours of Saturday and left him seriously injured in hospital and on a life support machine.
The incident began at around 4.15am on Saturday when the man was set upon by at least three men aged in their teens and 20s in the Newtown Industrial Estate.
He was severely beaten and left on the road where he lay until some time later when a passer-by saw him and called Gardaí.
The man will appear before the Criminal Court this morning at 10.30am. A second man arrested in relation to the incident remains in custody in Raheny Garda Station.
A third male in his late teens has also been arrested in relation to the and is being detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act at Clontarf Garda Station.
Gardai have launched an appeal over the attack, looking for anyone who was on the Malahide Road, between The Hilton Hotel and Darndale Roundabout, or anyone who was in the Newtown Industrial Estate between 4am and 5am on Saturday night to contact them at Coolock Garda Station on 01 666 4200.
A Gardaí spokesman said they would particularly like to speak to delivery persons, taxi drivers or anyone who had business in the industrial estate in the early hours of the morning.

Man Arrested After Failed Armed Robbery
Garda have arrested a man in his mid 20s following a botched armed robbery in north Dublin. Gardai said the suspect was detained for questioning following an attempted raid at a premises in Newtown Industrial Estate in Coolock about 14.00 on Monday. One man, believed to have been armed with a firearm, threatened staff but left empty-handed.

Man Shot Dead In Dublin
A man in his 40s has been shot dead in Dublin. The shooting happened at the Greenogue Industrial Estate, Rathcoole, at around 9.30am. The man, who sustained gunshot wounds, was taken to Tallaght Hospital, but was later pronounced dead. The area has currently been sealed off. Gardai are appealing to anyone with information to contact them.

A man has died in an incident at a recycling plant in west Dublin. The incident happened around 5.30pm on Monday at the Merrywell Industrial Estate, near Clondalkin. It is understood that the man, who was in his 40s, was crushed by a truck. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
