Rearrest Of Delaney Shooting Suspect

A man has been rearrested in connection with the shooting of Robert Delaney in 2008, according to Gardaí this morning.

Officers in Tallaght, investigating the shooting of Robert Delaney on the 22nd October 2008 in the Russell Rise area of Tallaght, said this morning they had arrested one male.

The male, who is in his 20s, is being detained in Tallaght Garda Station under the provisions of Section 30 Offences Against the State Act.

Robert Delaney remains in a critical condition in Tallaght Hospital.

The suspect was rearrested today over the shooting of the father of two who was left severely brain-damaged.

A gunman who called at his house shot Robert Delaney, 29, in the face with a shotgun.

A total of nine people have been arrested so far by officers investigating the gun attack at Russell Rise, Tallaght. One of those was rearrested this morning.

The attack was linked to a row in a pub a few weeks earlier. He remains in a critical condition in Tallaght Hospital.

His family, including parents Terry and Noleen and his daughter Sinead, have been campaigning to have those behind the attack brought to justice.

Gardaí in Dublin are continuing to question a man in connection with the shooting of a man in Tallaght. As part of their investigation into the attack on Robert Delaney, 28, at Russell Rise in Tallaght, on the 22nd of October, Gardai in the Tallaght area yesterday morning made the arrest.

Missing Tallaght Man Found 'Safe And Well'
A man who had been missing from the Tallaght area has been found 'safe and well', Garda have reported. 30-year-old John Rodgers was reported missing on 11 July. However, Garda said John has now been found and thanked the public for their assistance.

Man Shot In Leg At His Dublin Home
A man was shot in the leg at his home in Dublin last night. The man, in his 30s, was shot at a number of times, at his house in Tallaght, south Dublin, according to Gardai. He was taken to Tallaght Hospital, and his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. The victim was shot at three times in the leg at his front door.

Teen Arrested Following Firearm Seizure
A 19-year-old man has been arrested by gardaí following the seizure of a firearm in Tallaght, Dublin. He was arrested on the Jobstown Road at approximately 12.40am on Tuesday morning. Gardaí were alerted after a man was seen holding a weapon. The male was chased on foot and gardaí disarmed and arrested him.

Appeal For Witnesses To Tallaght Shooting Incident
Gardaí in Tallaght have appealed for witnesses to a shooting incident at Parkhill West on Monday 18 January. Detectives are searching for a silver Volkswagen Passat that was involved in the incident. It is understood an unknown number of occupants travelling in the Passat fired a number of shots at a 06-D blue Mazda 3 containing two men.
