Garda Injured Chasing Mugger
A member of the Gardaí has been injured in a car chase in County Offaly after a women was mugged on early Sunday morning.
The incident began at around 12.45am on November 28 when a female in her 50’s was approached by a male on Father Paul Murphy Street, Edenderry.
He snatched her handbag, which contained a sum of money, and jumped into a car before speeding off in the direction of Carbury, Co Kildare. Gardai in Edenderry were alerted and found the suspect car, which they followed.
A Gardaí spokesman said this morning there was a collision between the Garda Car and the suspect car, but the suspect's vehicle continued towards Broadford being pursued by Gardai from local stations and also by members from the Regional Support Unit.
The suspect car was eventually stopped at approx 2.50am in Kilmore, Cadamstown, Co Kildare and three people were arrested, two males of 25 years, a juvenile and a female of around 20 years. They were taken to Tullamore Garda Station where they are currently being detained under the provisions of Section 4 of The Criminal Justice Act 1984. A sum of cash was also recovered.
A member of An Garda Siochana was injured and was taken to Tullamore Hospital where he was subsequently released. One of the suspects also received minor injuries and was treated locally.

Man Dies In Shooting Incident
A 21-year-old man who was shot in Bunratty, Co Clare, died yesterday in hospital. Two men are still being questioned over the attack at the Bunratty Castle Hotel car park, and are being detained at Mayfield and Gurranabraher Garda Stations.

Man, 49, Injured In Sligo Assault
A man has been injured during an assault, after a dispute in County Sligo last night. Gardai in Sligo said they are investigating the "serious assault", which occurred at a walkway connecting Stevens Street car park and Rockwood Parade last night. The injured man was found lying near the walkway and the Garavogue River at about 9pm.

Four Men Arrested Following Discovery Of Suspect Device

A man has been arrested in connection with a fatal road crash in Co Kilkenny. A man died in the collision, which happened at around 1am on the westbound carriage of the N24 Piltown bypass. The second car involved failed to remain at the scene. A 53-year-old man is currently being detained at Thomastown Garda Station.
