Man Dies In Dublin House Fire
A man has died and five others have escaped with their lives after a ferocious blaze in a Dublin residence last night.
Four units of the Dublin Fire Service attended the scene after the fire was discovered at approximately 11.45pm on Monday night. Three males were taken to the Mater Hospital. One of the males, who was 40-years-old was pronounced dead on arrival at the Hospital. The two other male received injuries that were described as "not serious", including possible smoke inhalation. Both of them have been released from hospital.
The residence was sub-divided in a number of flats and was brought under control just after 3am.
There were three other people in the building at the time of the fire and they were uninjured.
The dead man was removed to the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital.
The fire at Cabra Park, Dublin 7 is being investigated by Gardaí in Mountjoy. The scene of the fire has been sealed off for a Technical examination.
It is not yet known how the fire started.
Witnesses to the fire are asked to contact Mountjoy on 01 6668600 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.

Halloween Fire Safety Campaign Launched
Dublin Fire Brigade's Halloween Safety Campaign, 'Be Safe Been Seen' has been launched at Dublin Fire HQ by tArdmhéara Críona Ní Dhálaigh. The Fire Brigade will work with Dublin Bus, An Garda Siochana and the DSPCA in an effort to inform young people about the dangers of illegal bonfires and fireworks.

Man Stable After Being Struck By Luas
A man struck by a Luas tram in south Dublin on Tuesday night is in a stable condition in hospital. The incident happened at Cheeverstown at about 20:15 on Tuesday, Dublin Fire Service have said. It is understood that an 18-year-old man was on the tracks between the Citywest and Cheeverstown stops when he was hit.
