Appeal Launched Over Fatal Dublin Stabbing

The investigation into the stabbing of a Polish man in Dublin during the early hours of Sunday morning has turned to taxi drivers for information.

Gardai at Swords this morning said the were renewing their appeal for information following the incident which occurred on the 12th December.

A spokesman said investigating officers particularly wished to speak to the drivers and occupants of a number of taxis that were operating around the time of the stabbing.

Firstly, a taxi travelling from the Wright Venue to Richmond Road between 2.45am and 3.30am on Sunday morning, and also a taxi who picked up two females and a male on Booterstown Avenue at approximately 3am on Sunday before dropping one of the females at Kirwan Street and continuing on to St Aidan's Park via Richmond Road where the remaining female and male got out.

A postmortem of the 29-year-old victim was carried out yesterday morning as Gardai carry out searches on Dublin's northside in a bid to find out where the victim was killed. The man was attacked and stabbed a number of times in the stomach and died from his injuries on Monday afternoon in the Mater Hospital.

The man, with an address in Naas, Co Kildare, is believed to have travelled to Dublin on Saturday to meet some friends. Detectives have established the deceased was among a party of up to 12 men and women, all believed to be Polish, who spent Saturday night into Sunday morning socialising at the Wright Venue bar and nightclub at Airside Retail Park, Swords, north Co Dublin.

He went to an apartment in the Drumcondra area, and the group then moved on to the Wright Venue in Swords, north Dublin, and partied there until shortly after 2.30am yesterday.

Missing Dublin Man Found 'Safe And Well'
A Dublin man missing since Sunday morning has been found "safe and well". 27-year-old Glen Fitzpatrick was reported missing from his home in Inchicore, Dublin 8. Gardaí had issued an appeal for information on Monday and have thanked the public for their help. No details of where Mr Fitzpatrick was during the time he was missing have been released.

Appeal For Witnesses To Early Morning Shooting In Dublin
Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to a shooting in Dublin this morning. According to garda a man was shot just after 9am on Thursday morning on Clonard Street. The victim has been taken to hospital but no details of his condition have been released. The scene of the shooting has been sealed off pending a technical examination.

'No Foul Play' In Death Of Baby Girl Found On North Dublin Beach
Gardaí have renewed an appeal to the mother of a baby girl, whose body was found on a north Dublin beach to contact them. The body of the baby girl was found on Bell's beach in Balbriggan on Sunday morning. Garda have said that a post-mortem confirmed that the child was a full-term baby girl and that "no foul place" was involved in her death.

Man Dies In Overnight Road Crash
A man has died when his car collided with a van on the Rathbeale road in Swords, Dublin, around 02.30am on Wednesday morning. The man in his 40s was a passenger in the van. He died at the scene. The driver of the van and a second passenger are being treated in hospital. Their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
