Two Bodies Found In Limerick

The bodies of a male and a female, both aged in their 20s, have been discovered in a house at O’Malley Park yesterday morning.

Gardaí said they are investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery of the two bodies, which occured at approximately 1130am. Both individuals are believed to have been shot.

They have been named locally as Des Kelly who lived at the house and Breda Waters who was from the St Mary's park area of Limerick city.

According to reports this morning, Gardaí were called to the house at around noon and found the body of a woman in an upstairs bedroom.

The body of a man was found downstairs, close to the back door of the house.

Members of the Garda Technical Bureau are attending the scene and the State Pathologist has been notified.

Meanwhile, an incident room has been set up at Roxoboro Garda Station.

Gardai are appealing to anyone who was in the vicinity of O’Malley Pk and noticed any suspicious activity between 1130pm on the 8th of January and 1130am on the 9th January to contact them.

Two Bodies Discovered In Waterford
Gardaí are investigating the discovery of two bodies in two separate incidents in Waterford. The body of a 24-year-old man, originally from Clifden Court in the city, was found in a house at St Herblain Park at 1am on Friday morning. Two Women Found Dead In Donegal
The bodies of two elderly women have been found in a house in Glenties, Donegal. According to gardaí, the women, believed to be aged 80 and 87, were found yesterday evening. Initial reports suggest the cause of deaths may have been a gas leak in the house. It is believed gardaí attemped to revive one of the women but was unsuccessful.

Man Held Over McCarthy Murder
A man has been held overnight for questioning at Ennis garda station in Co Clare in connection with the murder of Deirdre McCarthy. Ms McCarthy, 43, from Turlough House, Ballyvaughan, was found dead on Fanore Strand last Thursday. She was buried yesterday.

Appeal For Witnesses To Early Morning Shooting In Dublin
Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to a shooting in Dublin this morning. According to garda a man was shot just after 9am on Thursday morning on Clonard Street. The victim has been taken to hospital but no details of his condition have been released. The scene of the shooting has been sealed off pending a technical examination.
