Two men have been arrested in connection with a major drug seizure in Dublin that led to the discovery of an estimated €500,000 worth of various drugs.

During the operation, Gardai from the Garda National Drugs Unit assisted by local gardai from Clondalkin Garda Station stopped two cars close to Newlands Cross in Clondalkin this afternoon.
After carrying out a search on the vehicle, a large quantity of what is believed to be cannabis herb, was discovered in the cars and two males in their 30’s were arrested at the scene.
Both males are currently detained at Clondalkin Garda Station under the Drug Trafficking Act.
In a follow up operation Gardai from the Garda National Drugs Unit, this time assisted by local Gardai from Blanchardstown Garda Station, searched an apartment and a van in the Clonsilla area and recovered a further quantity of cannabis herb along with cannabis resin and cocaine.
It is understood that a total of 25kg of cannabis herb and 4kg of resin were uncovered during this later search and that the apartment could have been used as a cocaine preparation factory.
