Eight Arrested Over Finglas Shooting
Some eight arrests have been made in Dublin today, in connection with a shooting incident in the area on December 30.
Gardai in Finglas investigating the shooting incident, which occurred outside “The Cappagh Nua” public house on Barry Road, said they had made the arrests after carrying out a number of searches.
Those arrested included five males ranging from 26 to 46years old, and three females aged 31, 26 and 29 years.
During the original incident, a 40 year old man was standing outside the public house when a dark coloured car, believed to be a Volkswagen Estate, drove up close to him. The front seat passenger got out and fired a number of shots hitting the 40-year-old man in the chest.
The gunman got back into the car which was driven off in the direction of Barry Avenue. The injured man was removed to Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown.
The suspects are being detained under the provisions of Section 30 Offences Against the State Act in the Bray, Dun Laoghaire, Blanchardstown, Finglas and Cabra Garda stations.
Meanwhile, a woman has been injured following a shooting incident at a house in Greenpark Road in Bray, County Wicklow. The incident took place at about 7.30pm on the February 1. The woman, who is in her late 40s, was injured in the lower back when a shot was fired through the window of a house. She was taken by ambulance to St Vincent's Hospital, her injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
The scene of the incident is sealed off for a forensic examination and Gardai are investigating the shooting.
Gardai said they are appealing for anyone who was in the Greenpark Road, Lower Dargle Road or People's Park areas of Bray this evening, to contact them at Bray Garda Station on 01 666 5300.

Two Held Over Attempted Shooting Attack Released
Two men arrested in connection with an attempted shooting attack in Dublin have been released without charge. The incident occurred at a car park next to the Islandbridge Court Apartments on 1 November. A Honda Civic rammed another car at the scene. Two occupants in the car then ran after the driver of the other vehicle and fired a number of shots.

Appeal Issued After Shooting Incident In Bray
Gardaí in Bray have appealed for information following a shooting incident in Greystones on Saturday, 12 December. It is understood that shots were fired during an incident at Farrankelly Road at about 11:10 on Saturday. A number of men are believed to have been involved.

Arrests Follow Deadly Double Shooting
Four people are in custody today as Gardai at Pearse Street station investigating the fatal shooting at Pearse House on Sunday continue to probe the deadly incident. Three males and one female were arrested in Dublin overnight and are currently detained at City Centre Garda Stations under Section 50 Criminal Justice Act 2007.
