Gardaí Hunt For Missing Liverpool Woman
An appeal has been launched in connection with the disappearance of a Liverpool woman and her three-year-old daughter, who may have come to Ireland.
This morning, Gardaí said Merseyside Police are becoming increasingly concerned for the welfare of the 30-year-old Laura Halligan and her daughter Grace who were last seen in Fazakerley, Liverpool, on Wednesday, February 16.
Laura was reported missing at around 10.30am on Wednesday morning and has not been in touch with any family or friends since then.
Laura is described as being white, 5'10" tall of slim build with long blonde or light brown hair and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing a black overcoat but may have changed her clothing since then. Grace usually wears pink-framed glasses.
Laura is known to frequent the Fazakerley and Kirkby areas of Merseyside and initial enquiries have established that on Wednesday morning she and Grace took a taxi from Liverpool to Hollyhead ferry terminal in North Wales.
Detectives are investigating whether they then got on a ferry and, if so, if they have travelled to Ireland or another destination outside of the UK.
Gardaí and Merseyside police said they wanted to stress to Laura that she is not in any trouble with the police and that they just want to know that she and Grace are safe and well.
Laura has a medical condition, which may deteriorate if she is not treated. Officers would like Laura or anyone who knows of the pair's whereabouts to contact them on 0044 151 777 4568 or the Missing People Helpline in confidence on 0500 700 700.
Meanwhile, Gardai in Crumlin are seeking the assistance of the public in tracing the whereabouts of 15-year-old Jessica Maguire from Thomas Moore Road in Walkinstown.
Jessica was last seen at her home at 10.30am on 16th February 2011. She is described as being 5’3” in height with a slight build, blue eyes and brown hair.
When last seen she was wearing a school uniform consisting of a red and green chequered skirt with a green jumper, white shirt and red and green striped tie.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact Crumlin Garda Station on 6666200.
