Appeal Over Liam Murray Murder
The appeal for information from the public into the murder of Dublin Man Liam Murray has been renewed.
Gardaí in Terenure announced on Wednesday afternoon they are appealing for assistance from the public with regard to their investigation into the murder of Liam Murray, which occurred between the 17th and 20th of March 2009.
A Gardaí spokesman said it had been an extensive investigation and that within the region of 700 statements had been taken from witnesses, along with door to door enquiries carried out. "The matter is still being actively pursued by Gardaí at Terenure," the spokesman said. There have been no arrests to date.
The spokesman added that the location Liam Murray was murdered was a reasonably isolated area and any unfamiliar persons or vehicles should have been noticed.
"Also there is a pub nearby and again witnesses from here may have witnessed a suspicious vehicle or person. Gardaí have attempted to identify all persons/witnesses that were in the area at the time but there remains the possibility there are more witnesses who have yet to come forward."
Both Gardaí and the family of Liam Murray said they would hope that the renewed appeal would jog the memory of these people, and encourage them to come forward.
Gardai said they are appealing to anyone who may have seen Liam between the 17th and 20th of March 2009 or who may have been in the vicinity of Rockbrook Cottages during this period and can assist with the investigation to contact the incident room in Terenure on 01 6666400, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800-666-111 or any Garda Station.
