Two Killed In Separate Crashes
Two men, both in their 30s, have been killed in separate road crashes over the weekend.
In the most recent incident, a 30-year-old male was fatally injured when the car he was a front seat passenger in collided with a second vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body has been removed to Cavan General Hospital.
Gardai in Ballyconnell, County Cavan said they are investigating the collision that occurred on the Swanlinbar to Ballyconnell Road (N87) at Derrynacreeve Cross at approximately 3.30am on Sunday.
There were four other people in the same car as the deceased (two male and two female) who were all taken to Hospital in Enniskillen.
The driver and sole occupant of the second car was uninjured.
The road is currently closed pending completion of an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and local diversions are in place.
Gardai wish to appeal for witness to this collision to contact Ballyconnell Garda Station on 049-9525580, The Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
Earlier, on Saturday, another male in his early 30’s was fatally injured when the car he was driving collided with a wall. He was the sole occupant of the vehicle and no one else was injured. He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body taken to Mayo General Hospital in Castlebar.
Gardai in Ballyhaunis, Co. Mayo said the incident occurred on the Claremorris to Ballyhaunis Road near Brickens at approximately 9pm on Saturday.
The road is also currently closed pending completion of an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. Local diversions are in place.

A male pedestrian in his 40s was fatally injured when he was struck by a car. He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body removed to Our Lady's Hospital in Navan.

Second Arrest Made Over Ennis Shooting
A second man has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a 35-year-old father of two in Limerick early yesterday morning.
