Teenager Charged With Mayo Murder
A 19-year-old man will appear in court today in connection with the death of a woman in Co Mayo earlier this week.
He was charged last night for the murder of mother of four Noreen Kelly-Eadon, 46.
Mrs Kelly-Eadon was stabbed to death in her isolated home in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
Post-mortem tests at Mayo General Hospital on the woman, who was separated from her husband and lived at Derrynacrieve, Islandeady, Castlebar, showed she had died from multiple stab wounds, including to her head. Her body was discovered by her teenage son.
Gardaí continued their technical examination of the murder scene yesterday.
The victim, from Kilmeena, Westport, was known to value her privacy and rarely socialised locally, apart from trips to Castlebar and Westport.
Funeral arrangements will allow her eldest son, Oisín, time to return from Australia. Ms Kelly Eadon had two other sons, Celyn and Ferdia, and a daughter, Saoirse.
All three live in the family home.
